Re: techniques for matching pitch/key

You definitely hit on one of the weak points of Maschine. Basically you're right, you essentially have to set each individual sample on each pad, and lock the sample in individually. Which sort of defeats the purpose of the sampler. There is no reasonably easy way to do this. I also use Logic, and I...

Re: STBB #698 VOTE

1. Dr. Steve Rogne & Mr. MoZ@FûKà (2nd Glass) - Catchy melody chops and some gangster bass going on 2. Sil Dante and Choppyfyt - Super dope flow over a nice old school beat 3. Renzo Garcia - Seamless production wizardry, super technically precise. Lot of nice grooves. Dez Nyce - Great rhythm, s...

Re: STBB 698 - Security Park Week

Cool to have a set of samples from your Dad, that was good stuff. Pulled some straight loops out of the sample songs, and also made some sampler instruments.

Re: STBB #696 VOTE

Some real technicians coming out this week. Into all the musical strangeness. 1. Renzo Garcia - An epic made with beats. 2. Detritus Tabu - Genius product placement, and a massive composition. The blasting punk section is fantastic. 3. Moxatron - Straight South Brooklyn disco style then the old scho...

Re: STBB #696 FUNKY-DISCO-TRAP

Wild and fun set of rules. Interesting to think about what disco trap could be. Took some trap drum sounds and sped and funked them up to have a disco steeze. Took the Barry White and programmed a bassline with that, then took mishap and Siouxsie (shout for putting this in the sample pack) and did s...

Re: STBB #695 VOTE

1. Granny David - Super tight drums, clever guitar chops and in the pocket groove. Great choice of vox too. 2. Home of Dope Beats - Fire flow over crazy drums. Super original groove and a switchup that feels like two totally different tracks. 3. Kool Dee Moe - Super polished and finished, a radio t...

Switchup reminds me of showing up to The Wetlands on Wednesday, but it's actually Thursday.

Re: STBB #694 VOTE

Listening to the whole playlist put me in a good mood. Fascinating how there were a lot of super dark beats and also a lot of super airy, chill beats, all from the same samples and rules. Very cool. 1. SWGWM - Clever booming and jangly percussion mixed up with some 70's light rock. Ill melodies. 2. ...

Re: STBB #694

Lots of sample magic to get dug out of these tracks. Chopped up the Cal Tjader and Flight of the Concord, and recorded and distorted some percussion with the Stylophone drum. No hats is a great challenge. Fun week.

Re: STBB #693

Decided to experiment and see what kind of drums you can program without a snare, just kicks, hats and claps. Played the synth horns, everything else was sampled from the radio tracks and filtered into oblivion. Fun, but tough set of samples and rules to work with. Great challenge this week. https:/...

Re: STBB 692

Love when the rules have "swing" in them. Great set of samples, you could chop 50 tracks out of these and keep going. I'm all about the French torch singers split up on the pads this week.

Re: STBB#689

LOVED these samples. Used something from all three. Loaded them up into the sampler, made instruments and played them through the track.
