Can I suggest that if we get a straight acapella, that we also get a reference of some sort to help out with getting the sync right for the rapper involved?

Either the acapella to a metronome/click track or an un-remixed original track would work...

You will 100% know the community more than me so it's not pessimistic - I was MIA for a big portion of STBB and also started later than you haha

Has there ever been a bracketed beat battle where you go head to head (I know theres a 1v1 battle subforum) - I don't think it would work in a week just due to the nature of it but could be a cool 'thing' to do maybe as one of the monthly battles. Same sample for all entrants, names in a hat and dr...

The early start gave me more time - lovely sample but I thought it tough to make hype / battle music and found myself remaking Buck Em Down (same sample) So I took the bass and distorted the hell out of it and EQ'd it back, same with the keys of the sample. Then added big drums and extra synth layer...

I think bringing in rappers and/or acapellas as a 'remix' kind of thing would definitely prompt me to be active in the monthlys.

Collab with the main man HESHy - thanks for working with me... here's what we came up with.

Congrats JC! I made this one at 60bpm and liked the idea of a clock ticking as a percussive element. According to Serato, 3 of the samples were in the same key so used all 3 as elements and layered with keys and lots of wobbly tape.
