wow.. took me a couple of hours to figure out and ( sorta ) duplicate what Pete Rock did with that loop there.
it ain't just that little piece of the track by Ahmad Jamal.
this is the first time I've ever tried to recreate a track.
I realise it's allowed to just make a remix with the same samples.. but I wanna try and catch the essence..
cool Psych!
Dope Joa looking foward to hearing what you do with it
Soul-Jutsu wrote:Amazing challenge. I'm gonna go for "the people" Common ft Dwele produced by Kanye.
Great challenge, I fully expect to make a real mess of something beautiful.
Thanks Soul-Jutsu Nah I'm sure you wont make a mess off it..... Look forward to here your flip of it

I hope this isn't classed as spam, but I threw together another 93 til infinity remix. I didn't sample the same song this time, went for some Isaac Hayes instead
This is neither an entry or a non-entry, I just wanted to share it with fans of the original

It's a non entry cause i didn't do what you wanted me to do
In fact i used no Samples at all... i played my guitar instead and tried to come close to the original...
and some extra strums to fill the emptyness of the missing vocals

Man I've had a stupidly busy week to get mine done for this this and as we only got a few entries in for this side battle, I'm going to extend this for another two weeks to give people more time to enter. I've updated the date in the OG thread, the new date is Saturday the 30th of March 2019 11.59pm Pacific time.

I choose the Black Rob Whoa! track produced by one of my favourite producers Buckwild for this battle. Here's the original sample by François Valéry, track titled Joy (Version Originale Orchestrale) Buckwild sampled around the 2.10 minute mark
Here's the original flip by Buckwild
Here's my flip for the battle, the only outside samples were the drums and bass as they weren't listed on the original (I went for a smooth vibe)
Just a heads up the closing date is tomorrow Saturday the 30th of March 2019 11.59pm Pacific time. Look forward to hearing what you done for this
