rediscovered the multibandcompressor that i lost with my old pc.. dl'ed later .. but sorta forgot about ..

anyone by chance know what it's called and knows where to find the simpler version of this one?.. used it on some older projects but it's missing..

That's the cubase 5 multibandcomp . Simpler you mean single band ? Take a look at the docs maybe you can spot it.
If I remember correctly it was only on pro edition or something so maybe a simpler version of it exist
