After 4 comes 5
use at least 5 samples from the folder in any way,
incorporate layering in some fashion could be just a section of your beat but try and layer some of the 5 (or more)
of the samples you choose
outside bass allowed
outside drums allowed: added sat 12 Nov.
outside instruments/vsts besides fx are prohibited
acapellas prohibited unless its you spitting live or aca but gotta be u rapping/singing

aaah, yes..
in about a month's time it's gonna be gonna be Collab Week on again..
in memory of Nelson Mandela R.I.P.
can't believe it's been 9 years ..feels like another lifetime actually..
maybe you can also think of some outside of stbb people to collab with?

now i'm already in cahoots for one collab :p .. though multiples allowed..
but thought it would be cool to do something different this year..
i wanna see who's available on forehand

so firstly i'm gonna reach out to guys and gals who join irregularly
see if they're down this edition.. and make a provisional list..
those who are on more regularly like you can let all of us know by stating so on here..
if you want to just decide when collab week has arrived then that's cool too of course..
i was also thinking up a 'We are ther world' type deal.. where we all pitch in on one track and play on our fortes..
but i'ma let that simmer for a while..
ideas and suggestions welcome..

fun samps good rules.i used a lot of samps for creating backbone texture lots of blending.hope im not dq'd for drums.i chopped the get down famous loop pitched down and created fast tiny cuts.

Hello,
I used 5 samples.
I chop the Bob Marley voice a lot....to create a new riddim
Reverse some guitars and use some micro samples a lot....

I used a bass stab and some keys to fatten the track. Dope samples this week.

What's good peeps?
Chilled Sunday afternoon cook up.
I used just the samples.
Found some drums, chopped them out,
Stacked the snare, tried to EQ the High end up. Make it more crispy
Boosted the Kick give it more oomph.
found some loops, used them
vocal thing. Delay...
Beep noises....
Low end/Bass from the sample chops. EQ and Bass boost. Bit of panning.

After some time away - I thought I'd drop in and see whats up... I had sort of got a bit tired of beat making but recently the innovations in tech have got me interested.
I made this in Serato Studio after downloading it at on Wednesday and really liking its workflow and flexibility.
Hope you're all good too. I see some familiar names from back on Stones Throw.
