STBB #831 VOTE + Question

yoww fellas..
what do you think of allowing beats posted before the vote thread goes up to be eligible and not be late entries?
i can't always make it in time and it sorta sucks disallowing beats that people did their best on..
if there's no firm objections i'll just go with doing it this way from now on..
pz Joa

Hey All,

SWEET week.
On the Entries- I think the person posting the vote thread could post in the original thread that time is up so people would know to add non entry. I am not even sure what the deadlines are cause i am lost in space most days. Hope all are well. Peace, Hugh

Great week liked a whole bunch of them..

2. Hesh
3. Jeff Crystal
Also Joa - what about something like this...
Countdown
I think I've coded it right so that when loaded it would give the times etc with the time zones right? Let me know if the times are off as not sure if it keeps the timezone right when you access from other regions.
Midnight Wed for Entries, Midnight Friday for Votes and Midnight Saturday for New Beats? - all Pacific Time?
If it works you could just add that link to the new post each week.

eyy, thanks for your feedback so far..
i'll let things simmer for a bit and get back to you guys later..
...
however.. good you asked 5XVT .. coz the timeframe is written right in the 'rules and guidelines' and the 'vote start'..
but the 'new week topic start' is off..
also it has actually already been 'Submission are eligeble till the vote thread goes up.. always at ^^. Wed midnight PST. or after this time.' since March last year..
think i half forgot myself during the past year, lol..
it is not something one can count on of course but coz i might be on the dot that given day.
another thought is.. it just seems like a waste of time that could be spent beat making if i'm gonna be 3 hours later posting the vote thread every week..
so could just make it 12:00 CET every week..
less official time to vote.. but it seems it's hardly ever busy around that time anyway..
will fix the fineprint and keep in check the right one gets copied.
from the rules and guidelines topic - ..post it on the forum by:
Thursday 09:00 CET Central European Time / Wednesday midnight PST Pacific Standard Time.
Submission are eligeble till the vote thread goes up.. usually at ^^.. or after this time.
Vote by: Friday 21:00 CET / Friday noon PST.
Post new week by: Saturday 09:00 CET / Friday midnight PST. -

My vote for the STBB 831:
1.KENJA - « Yoowww »
2. JoaGymshoe - « Brand Nu Again »
3. Hesh - « Looking within »

About your question JOA.
My opinion is the same than what 5XVT say:
Midnight Wed for Entries, Midnight Friday for Votes and Midnight Saturday for New Beats? - all Pacific Time
It's could be great?

Regarding the idea of allowing entries that go up prior to the voting thread being posted — when thinking about this, I'm actually questioning the need for a posting deadline to begin with. Just have a voting deadline and a general time that the voting thread gets posted:
- if someone fails to enter, obviously they don't get any votes
- the later someone posts, the less likely they are to get heard and thereby get votes
Seems simple enough. Also, it should be no one's responsibility to ensure that a track gets added to the playlist once the voting thread has been posted.

What if we extend the time to make the beats by 24 hours and therefore reduce the hours to vote by 24? one extra day to cook up a flip or two? I personally think there is nothing wrong with the format that we have. Switching Time zone is maybe something we could think about? Don't know how much difference that really makes? Also not sure how long it takes people to listen to the entries ? Would just 24 hours be enough? What day is the best for everyone to sit down and listen to the entries?
Peace Mox
