Debussy X Fields
Nothing to do with the 80's band Debussy Fields lol. Talking about my personal favorite classical Claude Debussy, considered to be the GOAT of the Impressionists. And we are going to combine that with legendary singer Lee Fields
Rules:
1) must use a piece of Debussy "Nuages" and any Lee Fields vocal sample*
2) outside everything allowed
*Not a Lee Fields remix contest, just want to hear any use of vocal element, even just a stab. Also feel free to use any Lee Fields sample, sample provided for convenience : )

Upload your beat to Soundcloud, include "STBB 849“ in the title, and POST TO THIS FORUM by Thursday 06:00 in the morning, Pacific time/15:00 CET
Try to leave as much feedback as you can and you will receive it back.

I don't know why I always stuggle to translate beats in my own challenges...perhaps psychological I dunno. I like it enough to submit tho. Looking forward to hearing everyone's flips! : )

For real! Dude is a real deal soul singer. Always blew my mind that this song is kinda hard to find...my personal favorite from him. Really glad you dig it.

Congrats on the win Tone. I used the chops from the Debussy track as my main sample and added a snippet of the Lee Fields for the vocals and added some outside drums, a snippet from the 1981 movie "Clash Of The Titans" and an 808 for the bassline. All chopped, arranged and sequenced on my MPC 1000 (running JJOS2XL). I used track mutes to bounce the stems out using mixdown in song mode before I imported them into Reaper for a quick final mix and master.
