On a side note, we've been surprised to hear this much a-cap/remix type of entries for the last few rounds we've joined. We were expecting more "make-the-crowd-jump" type of beats, iykwim - as it would be for an on-stage beat battle ; we tripping ?

hii.. where were your expectations created?.. from the words 'beat battle' itself?..
the styles have always been varied .. even house, drum and bass, lo-fi, noise etc. here are some prime examples.. sweet winner's compilations

i wouldn't call them ' make the crowd jump ' ones in general but there definitely are some..
and when there's no rules anything is fair game otherwise..

aight.. gonna look for a sample. and i heard your message Minus and Sickness,, rules are gonna be: make a beat battle beat.. bit of hype needed so use two minimum
yet a maximum of M.C. lines.. like: ' get ready for it, here comes the bass ! ' .. or ' iz everybody happy' lol.. etc.
