8-bit rules I'm pumped! Are non-8-bit things still allowed? i.e. using normal drum samples or a bass guitar over the rest of the chiptune song

Follow up question... if I 8-bitify my guitar sound can I record an 8-bit guitar solo?

LSDJ + 8-bitified drum samples + 8-bitified guitar solo!

Lemme know if this is breaking any rules LAD'Z and I'll mark it non-entry.

This one got me in the mood to play Link to the Past again...

Not sure if this counts, used the Slyfox-sample for all, stretched pitched chopped, microlooped, then played over with some basic ableton drumkit.
If it doesn't count, i will edit it somehow.

Yo

Quick evening cook up.

Chopped the "sly fox" sample up.
Pitched it down -3
used a filter and a high pass on the sample.
Pulled the low end out a bit as well. ;)
Just added some drums. no quantise on them drums got them natural groove.

yo whats good congrats ladz on the win :vulcan:

tried to make a bounce with everything in the track 8 bit (just downsampled some normal drums sounds, it doesnt sound conventionally 8bit to me but hey ho)
the main sample (sly fox) is the main looping sound then used a few of the fx throughout.

congrats ladz.. I love SNES / 8Bit stuff - I did a whole beat tape using SNES samples a few years back...

Anyway here's my entry for this week - chords from the sample and layered 8 bit drums / basic 8 bit synths etc..

I had a whole lotta fun with this one. I recorded my children and made the first rough draft of the beat with them on the side, so bear with the weird intro with some weird kiddy voices. We had fun creating it! They also chose the title: "BITBOTS"! :mic: :drum:
