First of all, thanks to everybody who voted. Been with STBB for quite a while and although I have periods where I don't make music at all, I know that if I come back to it, I can also count on the awesome community here to supply me with new challenges and such.
Rules STBB #647:
MicroChops!!
Make a beat with TWO beats. One should primarily use longer (half a bar) samples, that remind you of the original composition. The other should be elaborately chopped, unrecognizable to the untrained ear
So like the gif above, but keep chopping until you get splinters. I fully accept tools like granulizers and such to do the microchops for you in a random way, or you can go full Prefuse 73 if you like precise. You can choose to have a different BPM for the two parts, different drums even. You can choose whatever way the first part blends into the second (like gradually, musically, or with an abrupt vocal sample). I'm also fine with just one beat if it last like 2+ minutes and is composed with gradually shorter (or longer) sample chops.Secondary challenge: play at least something live! Meaning, recording samples or midi notes in unquantized. Another way to comply with this is recording your beatboxing, and then syncing drum hits to that recording.
External anything allowed, except other musical samples. There should be enough in the package. You can focus on one sample from the pack but you don't have to - judge by yourself if it's what works best for the macro vs micro chops in your beat's theme. No time limit, again, judge for yourself when one part is played out and should give way to the second part.
