Today marks the 25th anniversary of Krs-Ones second album 'KRS ONE', so I chose some of the prominent samples used in the album for us to play with this week.
Since KRS ONE is a self proclaimed Philosopher and 'Teacha'... This week the challenge is to input one of YOUR own philosophies within your beat. It could be via a vocal sample, your own raps or some other creative way....

the lyrics are part improv & part written. production was tough cuz I had to sing quietly due to sleeping people.
I had fun with this one. It follows themes of my personal philosophy about dadaism, optimism, & recognizing that we all possess a deep intrinsic curiosity which drives us to live, learn, and develop.

I'm not someone who likes weed themed hiphop songs, as i know how cliched and cheesey they are. That being the case, i made one! Puff puff pass.
Chopped up the intro of Incognito for the main bassline. Then used other parts, and parts of Mystique blues. Added filters , reverb and some delay. Used drums from the Barry Beats drum pack. BAAARY.
