It's been a couple years!

So what have we here? Well I used RipX to extract/filter out the parts I wanted out of the three songs. I then recorded the kick/snare/hats/string/guitar/bass into the Dirtywave M8, and got to abusing the samples a bit to wrangle them into something a bit more intense and full (some amplifier modeling, filter/resonance, chorus, and a *tiny* bit of delay). The only sound that *isn't* from the samples comes from the M8's macrosynht, and that the arp that comes in around the second half of the track. I tried using some different samples here, but I couldn't quite nail it.

Most of the actual patterns for the DnB track came to me yesterday, but the heavy arrangement and making variation work was done today. So probably 2.5-3 hours of work total... mostly just messing around to see what I thought sounded better... messing with mixer/limiter settings on the M8... then trying to apply some gentle EQ'ing to some of the tracks to especially help the kick/bass work better together.

With the final arrangement done... I decided to just play it straight into the SP404 mk2... and it was pretty quiet. I popped on the Isolator on FX Bus 1, and slammed it to +12db/+12db/+12db... and dropped the Cassette Sim onto Bus 2. From there... I just drove the settings, mostly for tape hiss and tone on the Sim... and rendered it out to a track. A final "normalize" was done on the computer using Fission... and a straight upload to Soundcloud.
